According to data, in early March 2024, key statistics showed that steel enterprises produced a total of 20.5798 million tons of crude steel, 18.4376 million tons of pig iron, and 19.2762 million tons of steel. Among them, the daily production of crude steel was 2.058 million tons, a decrease of 3.38% month on month, a decrease of 4.36% compared to the same period last year, and a growth of 5.05% compared to the same period last year; The daily production of pig iron was 1.8438 million tons, a decrease of 1.82% compared to the previous year. The same caliber decreased by 3.97% compared to the same period last year, and the same caliber increased by 5.77% compared to the same period last year; The daily production of steel was 1.9276 million tons, a decrease of 6.65% compared to the previous year. The same caliber decreased by 4.81% compared to the same period last year, and the same caliber increased by 0.73% compared to the same period last year.
Based on this estimate, the daily production of crude steel in China this month was 2.4867 million tons, a decrease of 2.77% compared to the previous period. The daily production of pig iron was 2.1439 million tons, a decrease of 1.37% compared to the previous period, and the daily production of steel was 3.335 million tons, a decrease of 3.28% compared to the previous period.
At the end of March 2024, the key statistics showed that the steel inventory of steel enterprises was about 19.5239 million tons, an increase of 1.504 million tons or 8.35% compared to the previous ten days (i.e. late February); An increase of 3.392 million tons or 21.03% compared to the same period last month; An increase of approximately 1.82 million tons or 10.28% compared to the same period last year; An increase of 2.842 million tons or 17.04% compared to the same period last year.
